Job Summary: The RN/LPN is a front-line position acting as a representative of STAT Home Health Services and providing the services offered by the company. The RN/LPN duties are not limited to those listed as the position has a wide scope of duties at times dependent on the client and always under the auspices of the company. The RN/LPN will mostly work independently of co-workers or supervisors and therefore must balance good judgment and initiative along with the policies of the company, and the regulations of the profession. It is the responsibility of a Registered Nurse/LPN to perform routine assessments, treatments, and services in the delivery of care to clients. The RN/LPN will provide information, health promotion, and education to unregulated care providers and family members as required. The RN/LPN will be required to build rapport with clients and their families and report any family and client concerns to the supervisor.
It should be noted that the emphasis is for the RN/LPN to involve the client in the care program to help provide the client with the basic standards of healthy living as follows:
Work Hours:
This position may require various shifts at various times (including nights, and weekends) in one or more work sites.
Duties:
The following list of duties is a guideline of possible duties to be performed independently or as a group of duties in the course of working with the client. The RN/LPN duties are not limited to those listed.
2. Completes all documentation for observation, planning, and evaluation of care provided to clients, including orders by physicians.
3. Functions in monitoring capacity as assigned for completion of client care, employee guidance and discipline.
4. Maintains open lines of communication between nursing shifts, as well as other agencies, supervisors, physicians, clients, and families.
5. Acts on client’s behalf to assure patient rights and to prevent client abuse.
6. Acts on First Aid knowledge in emergencies.
7. Is aware of safety issues, accomplishes responsibilities in a safe manner, and re-enforces good safety practices displayed by other staff members.
8. Is able to maintain confidentiality of information.
9. Works as a team member.
10. Is able to perform the following physical activities: Kneeling, Stooping, Standing, Reaching, Pulling/pushing, Walking, Grasping, moving fingers, Hearing, Talking, Sitting, Repetitive motions.
Qualifications:
1. Current Certificate in Standard First Aid and CPR.
2. Current RN/LPN license with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
3. Valid driver’s licence and reliable transportation
4. Ability to work independently.
5. Excellent communication and listening skills.
6. Compassionate, patient, and caring nature.
7. Able to work in a stressful environment.
8. Must be physically and mentally fit to handle the demands of care giving.
General Notes:
The RN/LPN will be required to maintain a safe working environment for themselves and their clients.
There may be emergency situations where the RN/LPN will have to react quickly with sound judgement.
The scope of duties described in this document may not include all duties to be performed by the RN/LPN and is subject to change.
Wage:
$35- $55 (Based on Qualification and Experience)
Supplemental pay types: Overtime pay

Job Description – Personal Support Worker
Place of Employment: Client homes, work sites outside of the client home as required and other work sites as required by management.

The PSW duties are not limited to those listed as the position has a wide scope of duties at times dependent on the client and always under the auspices of the company. The PSW will mostly work independently of co-workers or supervisors and therefore must balance good judgement and initiative along with the policies of the company.

Providing customers with a strong sense of self-esteem and independence. Taking a genuine interest in the client, their life and their environment will help create true sense of companionship. Whether it is playing a favourite board game or card game, reading, taking a stroll or visiting with friends and neighbours, companionship provides the depth of our services.
The PSW will provide dusting, washing hardwood and flooring, vacuuming carpets and furniture, changing bedding, scrubbing the bathroom; pre-washing, washing, drying, ironing and folding laundry; defrosting refrigerators/freezers; cleaning ovens/stoves and china cabinets; caring for house plants; taking out garbage and general tidying of living spaces as required or requested. It also includes caring for pets including grooming, feeding, exercising, walking, playing, cleaning up after the pet.
This including assisting with grooming needs such as hair care, shaving, cleaning teeth/dentures; supervising or assisting with tub baths, showers, sponge baths, and bed baths; assisting with dressing and undressing; assisting with mobilization activities including turning, transferring, exercising, and walking; assisting with toilet and/or commode needs; assisting with eating or feeding; monitoring vital signs such as blood pressures, pulse and respiration. It also includes reminding the client to take their prescription medications. It does not include cutting of toenails or fingernails, changing dressings, or administering medications unless specifically delegated by the supervising nurse.
Grocery shopping, preparing menus and meals, cooking, baking, serving, assisting with eating, washing and drying dishes and general tidying up is included.
A PSW may drive their car and transport a client to an appointment or errand if the PSW has written authorization from the company to do so. The PSW may also escort the client to appointments or errands providing a helping hand or shoulder to lean on.
Qualifications:
1. Personal Support Worker certificate or equivalent
2. Experience working with seniors
3. Current CPR and First Aid
4. Vulnerable Sector police check required
5. Valid driver’s licence and reliable transportation
6. Ability to work independently.
7. Able to work in a stressful environment.
8. Must be physically and mentally fit to handle the demands of care giving.
